The holidays are over, but we want to bring the “spirits” of Christmas back for a little fun in the sun!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY v1-page-0.jpg

The fine Scotsman of Pickering’s Gin and Smokehead from Ian Macleod Distilleries have agreed to help us put together a fun bartender brawl.

We’ve put together a festive competition for bartenders/mixologists in 4 states (Arizona, Tennessee, Georgia, Colorado) The challenge, if you’re up for it, will be to create 1 cocktail with Smokehead Islay Single Malt Whisky and then 1 cocktail with Pickering’s Original Gin. But there’s a catch! The Pickering’s cocktail will be a shotgun cocktail, made in the moment with ingredients provided by the judges. As for the Smokehead cocktail, it will be judged on brand creativity, personality, showmanship, speed and camaraderie.

All contestants must submit 1 Pickering’s Original Gin cocktail and 1 Smokehead Islay Single Malt cocktail to qualify. Each submission must use each brand as the base spirit (not used as a rinse or wash). Each submission must use at least 1 oz of Pickering’s and Smokehead. No other gin or scotch brand may be used in the cocktail submissions. Cordials and liquors are permitted but must be supplied by the contestant. Any recipes for syrups, shrubs or homemade mixers must be submitted with each contestant’s cocktail recipe.

10 lucky bartenders/mixologists will be chosen from each state, to compete at an event space to be announced. The winner from each state will be flown to Scotland at a date to be annoucned for the final competition at the Pickering’s Ol’ Royal Dick Bar.

All submissions must be made by May 1st, 2019.
